Look out for parish notices in Gazette Officielle
Usually at this time of year, each Douzaine invites parishioners to a parish meeting to agree the budget for the year and how much ratepayers will be charged.
That’s not possible now that the island is in lockdown. So the Civil Contingencies Authority has passed a regulation that allow the Constables and Douzeniers to meet (remotely) to agree the rates themselves.
However, ratepayers still need to be consulted beforehand. So look out for notices in the Gazette Officielle giving details of how you can view the proposals and where to send comments.
