The Jurats are trusted by the community to decide serious court cases. They act as a jury and are judges of fact in both civil and criminal cases. Being elected as a Jurat is a high honour.
Nominations for the January election have now closed but anyone interested in putting themselves forward for consideration for the May election should contact the Bailiff’s Chambers.
