Fifteen women stood for Douzenier or Constable in the parish elections this year – and every single one was successful.
The big news came in the contested election in St Peter Port. 18-year-old Charlotte Long topped the poll and is the youngest person ever to be elected as a Douzenier. And Evita Bormane is the first person from Latvia to be elected – which made the front page of the Guernsey Press.
