In June we flagged up the vacancy for the important role of Chair of Guernsey’s new Development Agency. The Agency will plan and oversee the development of St Peter Port and St Sampson’s harbours and the seafront in between.
The person appointed has just been announced and it’s Stuart Falla CBE, retired Chair of the Garenne Group (RG Falla etc) and a States member from 2004-2008. Stuart was the chair of the Seafront Enhancement Group, a precursor of the Development Agency, and is a Non-States Member of the States Trading Supervisory Board (STSB).
One of Stuart’s first tasks will be to recruit up to five directors to form the Development Agency board. The advert for those roles isn’t out yet, but, if you are interested, you can get an idea of board responsibilities from the original job spec for Chair.
Listen to BBC interview with Stuart Falla about his appointment (at 1:36:19).
