Guernsey’s Data Protection Authority’s first Commissioner, Emma Martins, is coming to the end of her statutory term in December 2023 and recruitment has begun for her replacement.
Chair of the DPA, Richard Thomas MBE, says ““We are looking for someone with the experience and personality to ensure that we remain fully effective. Everyone understands the importance of responsible use of personal information, but making it happen in practice requires skilful use of the available tools”.
The Data Protection Commissioner is a non-voting member of the Data Protection Authority and CEO of the Office of the Data Protection Authority (ODPA). This is a demanding, politically sensitive role with a salary of £125,100 p.a. (inflationary linked) + 10% pension contribution.
