The Royal Court is seeking to appoint a Judge of the Magistrate’s Court to replace Judge Graeme McKerrell who retires in July 2023.
Whilst the workload is for one full time equivalent, the Royal Court may consider making two part–time appointments.
The work of a Judge of the Magistrate’s Court involves a wide spectrum of criminal, family andother civil law cases.
For not less than five years (or shorter if the Royal Court agrees):
- EITHER To have been in practice as a Guernsey Advocate, a UK member of the Bar or a UK Solicitor
- OR To have held judicial office in the UK, Jersey or Isle of Man
Training will be provided, as required.
