Diane Mitchell has joined the Committee for Education, Sport and Culture as its second non-States member.
She will attend all committee meetings and contribute her expertise but she won’t have a vote.
Before retiring and returning to her home island, Diane was a headteacher, a director of education and an Ofsted inspector in the UK.
She has served on the School Committees for Amherst and Vauvert Primary Schools and was elected as a Douzenier for St Peter Port in 2021.
‘I have been keenly following the committee’s exciting plans for the post-16 campus at Les Ozouets, and I am looking forward to making an active contribution in the finalisation of proposals for the new Education Law,’ Diane said.
