The States has put out a call for new members for a range of different tribunal positions.
Tribunals play a vital role in ensuring fairness, transparency and accountability by providing islanders with a mechanism to challenge decisions made about their tax, social security, planning applications etc.
While experience in a relevant field is helpful, it is not essential. Training is provided and will give you skills in evidence-based decision making that you’ll find useful in other areas of your life.
Tribunal members typically sit once or twice per quarter and can claim fees for hearings of around £100 per half day.
