There couldn’t be a hotter topic in Guernsey right now than housing.
The Guernsey Housing Association helps people in housing need by providing and maintaining good-quality affordable homes that residents and the island can be proud of.
They are currently looking for new voluntary board members to play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the association:
“Your insight, challenge, and guidance will help ensure we remain financially strong, compliant, and innovative—so we can continue to deliver high-quality homes and services that transform lives. You’ll be a guardian of our values, a champion for our customers, and a voice for positive change.
“You may already have board experience, but this is not essential. What is important is in-depth understanding of the communities of Guernsey, sound business acumen and excellence in governance”.
The GHA would particularly welcome applications from people who have experience in:
- finance and business leadership
- property management (including health and safety and compliance) and housing, regeneration or property development
- social housing, local government or a regulated public of not-for-profit organisation
Board Meetings are held on a quarterly basis, usually a Thursday afternoon, with one additional meeting in the calendar which is focused solely on reviewing and stress testing the business plan. Meetings are face-to-face and held at their offices in the Vale.
