Nominations for Jurat of the Royal Court

**For information only: Applications closed**.

You could put yourself forward to become a Jurat of the Royal Court – you don’t have to wait to be tapped on the shoulder.

The nomination period has opened and will close at 4pm on Friday 11 September 2026. Contact the Bailiff’s Chambers on 221281 to express an interest.

This vacancy has arisen as the result of the retirement of Stephen Jones OBE, the senior Jurat. Jurat Jones has been a great supporter of Women in Public Life’s work to raise public awareness and encourage more women to stand.

If you are considering standing in the future, please be aware that there are further retirements due over coming months so it is worth speaking to the Bailiff’s Secretary now for an exploratory discussion with a current Jurat.
